Tempe Chamber of Commerce Endorses Genevieve Vega
The Tempe Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsements of the most business-friendly candidates for the upcoming City Council election. The Tempe Chamber is endorsing Genevieve Vega for one of the three open seats on the Tempe City Council.
“Genevieve Vega shows great promise,” said Tempe Chamber President/CEO Anne Gill. “She has a strong business background and an understanding of Tempe business needs.” Genevieve is running for office for the first time in 2018.
Candidates were evaluated on a wide range of issues facing Tempe citizens and businesses, including government transparency, education, economic development, and infrastructure. In-person interviews and voting records were considered by the Chamber Board in order to choose candidates for the available seats. Although each of the candidates is well versed on City issues, those that the Chamber endorsed are the best advocates for Tempe businesses.
“We are confident these individuals will be strong representatives of the business community,” said Gill. “Their talents and abilities will be valuable assets in fulfilling the Chamber’s objective of promoting the best interests of business.”
The City of Tempe’s March 13, 2018, General/Special election will be a Ballot by Mail election. Ballots for the election will be sent on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
